Areas of Concentration and Research Lines
Check here the Areas of Concentration and Research Lines of the stricto sensu Graduate Program in Cell and Molecular Biology of the Instituto Oswaldo Cruz (IOC/Fiocruz).

Mandatory Credits
The stricto sensu Graduate Program in Cell and Molecular Biology requires for completion of the Master’s course a minimum of 20 credits and for completion of the doctorate a minimum of 32 credits. Molecular Biology and Biosafety are mandatory subjects for all students. For the area of concentration in Cell and Molecular Biology, the following subjects are mandatory: Ultrastructure and Cell Biology or Cell Biology and Ultrastructure of Lower and Higher Eukaryotic Cells. For the area of concentration in Pharmacology and Immunology, Applied Pharmacology or General Immunology are mandatory.

The students are also encouraged to participate in the Study Center, a weekly scientific event organized by IOC in order to expose the students to multidisciplinary subjects and to allow their interaction with our scientific community.

Students who have a Master’s degree obtained in courses accredited by Capes can validate up to 20 credits. Students who have attended the mandatory subjects during the PGBCM Master’s program do not need to attend them again during the doctorate.
